I wanted to focus on a bit of Puerto Rican culture. More specifically I wanted to illustrate reguetón. Reguetón is a genre of music that originated in Panama but was made widely popular by Puerto Rican artists. This music is such an important phenomenon in Puerto Rican culture. I remember listening to it while growing up and to this day I put on the old school songs that my parents used to put on in order to feel closer to home. I asked family members and myself what reguetón makes us feel and it is just a sense of nostalgia, happiness and motivation.
