La Fortaleza

This mosaic was inspired by a picture I took in one of the many protests Puerto Rican residents participated in 2019 to get former governor, Ricky Rosselló, out of office. Nearly 900 pages leaked on telegram with offensive private messages written by Rosselló and members of his administration, which included sexist, homophobic and derogatory remarks. In addition they mocked everyday Puerto Ricans, including victims of Hurricane María. The people decided enough is enough. After weeks of protesting as a community we successfully got Ricardo Rosselló to resign.
